so how come the embedded video won't play on my Pre? I have to go to a computer to see a Pre video from a Pre site? WTF?

the iPhone only wishes it could compete with the Pre. I have to say though, going down in a mug of beer is pretty sweet. Lol.

The owner of the Pre was unhappy because his screen had cracked three times, and was already on his third pre (so the unit in the video had a cracked screen already). This guy's boss offered to buy him an iPhone if he killed his Pre. He figured it was a good deal, I guess.

BTW, have they still not resolved the screen cracking issue?

Isn't awesome that we live in a country so saturated with wealth that we can afford to just destroy something as valuable as a Palm Pre for a minute's worth of entertainment, rather than donate it to a charity where it is so desperately needed?

That phone could have gone to an under -equipped soldier in Iraq. That phone could've gone to a woman so she could call someone to come get her, rather than risk walking home alone in a bad neighborhood and possibly getting raped. That phone could've simply been sold and money donated to any charity from poor in Africa, to Asia, even to helping victims of Hurricane Katrina.

But instead it was dropped in a mug of beer for some laughs. Good going guys. You could've put a child in Africa to school for a year, but instead you had a few laughs.

a lot of things could have been done with that phone, i agree. Same as you could have been reading to a child, donating your time to charity, planting a tree, blah blah blah...
instead, you "wasted" your time looking at a post from people trying to get a laugh out of life.

You're an idiot. Donating a cell phone to charity does not magically help people in the situations you described. What kind of Soldier so desperately needs a phone? If anything, that'd be unsafe connection-wise.
If somebody doesn't have a phone, it's likely that they can't afford the service because many services come with free phones.

i've had my pre since day one and i dont have a screen cracking issue or of anything of that nature. I personally think he was just an Apple fan boy that wanted to make a video for attention. I'm in the navy and i'm pretty rough on most things i own, my last phone was an instinct that fell down into drydock, 8830 was pretty banged up from falling out of my pocket, yet it seemed to work. But i have my pre and it looks and acts the same as it did the first day, other then the software upgrades

Yeah... it's too bad that the initial build issues were so severe (screen cracks, massive oreo's). I have a later build and everything is fine - loving webOS and my Pre, no issues whatsoever.

My daughter dropped my pre in the toilet. After not even 24 hours I had it running, took another couple days for the screen to completely dry. Been about a month so far, works perfectly!! Resilient bugger.

Dude calm down, his screen cracked and was offered a new phone if somehow his Pre miraculously got destroyed. Donating isn't considered as "destroyed". So two choices: somehow have his phone destroyed to get a new one or keep a cracked phone and spend hundreds to buy a new one. So he chose to have some fun destroying it. Why not? We all clicked on the post. The little kid in us all wanted to see carnage. He had fun. Period.

Haha I find it hilarious how you guys say the Pre is better then the iPhone. Haha that's why Apple has sold about 21 million units :) numbers don't lie guys.

Funny that a cracked screen seems to be common for the Pre. I've dropped mine at least 20 times (albeit with a clear snap on case you can get for it) and it's still working perfect. No cracked screen. Nothing broken.

The case is on it's last leg though - all but 1 of the snaps is fallen off and it's looks like it was in a fight with a mangy cat.
