Europe skipping WebOS 1.2.1 and going to 1.3 with the rest of us in November?

According to the German site Heise.De that has reviewed the German version of the Palm Pre in detail, they believe their version of the Pre might be getting iTunes Sync again with 1.3 sometime in November. Right now we have iTunes sync with version 1.2.1 so we aren't too concerned with getting it back here in the States just yet. In their post they say that O2 will be skipping 1.2.1 in order to line up WebOS versions with North America sometime in November. No exact date is given and they don't give a reference to their source but this is exciting news none the less.
The timing of the update actually makes perfect sense. The Pre came out June 06, 2009 with version 1.0.1 and actually had an update available to 1.0.2 on day one. About 45 days later on July 22, 2009 WebOS 1.1 was released offering a number of fixes and new features. Then when Palm finished WebOS 1.2 sometime around September 8th, which was their original expected release date, Sprint had to delay the update for a few weeks to deal with carrier settings on the Pre. The time Span between 1.0, 1.1, and 1.2 is about the same number of days. A November release of 1.3.0 will follow suite with this pattern being about two months after the expected 1.2 release onSeptember 08, 2009. It makes sense to us! This may also be about the time Pixi is launched. In time for the Holidays was Palms official launch date. That is exactly what this is.
The original paragraph and Google translation for you after the break.
Google Translation: The point is to reconcile the media synchronization of music and videos with iTunes, what with the pre-installed WebOS version 1.1.3 does not work. The iTunes version 1.2.1 is activated again, but should not appear in Germany, but only in early November, a version 1.3. Whether it sync with iTunes remains to be seen, especially since Apple has so far blocked the iTunes with every new update again. One way to synchronize, contacts, appointments and tasks directly to a PC, Palm does not offer - the app catalog but already contains several programs that want to close this gap.
We have our fingers crossed here at Prethinking and we feel pretty confident this time frame is correct. Do you think it all lines up? Are you expecting 1.3 in November? Let us know in the comments!

I'm just waiting for 1.22 to fix my car (Ford Fusion) pairing problem! Very annoyed at Palm for BREAKING something that worked perfectly fine before 1.20 :-(
1.3 in November??? This is the first I hear about it, but... I'll take it! Quick wish list (without much thought so I'm sure I'll forget some big ones...) :
- REMOVE APP MEMORY LIMIT!
- VISUAL VOICEMAIL! .......... I mean, COME ON!!!
- Video recording
- Voice memo
- Delete multiple pictures at once (I'd be happy with just "ORANGE + Tap = Delete" for now)
- Conversation threads in Gmail (if possible?)
- Text forwarding (WITHOUT tweaking)
- Visual notifications (NOT commented out)
- Customizable notification sounds (WITHOUT tweaks)
- More launcher pages (WITHOUT tweaks)
- More apps (hopefully app catalog will have officially launched by then...)
I second everything the previous poster listed. I don't think it will all come but I hope some of it does and maybe some hidden new features
Vara411 I follow you on Twitter and I must say that I agree with what you posted about what Palm needs to be focusing on if they are really trying to make current customers happy. We are the bet form of advertisement that they have at this point, and I refuse to give Palm free advertisement at this point in time if they refuse to give me what i want in my Pre.
In addition I would like for Palm to improve the WiFi settings as to make it automatically login for networks that require additional login info, ie. AT&T hotspots, University campus wifi, airports, etc.
I would also like for Palm to DRASTICALLY decrease the amount of time it takes for the Pre to boot to the main screen. I purchased an additional battery and battery charger (more money for Palm because of lack of battery capacity) and whenever I swap the batteries I always have to wait 3 - 5 minutes just for my phone to pass the palm logo and be ready for normal usage.
I don't think the boot time is ever going to change. Just my opinion. I do however think most of Vara's list can be changed. There is a long list of things I want fixed and I think they will be. Think WebOS 1.1 and 1.2 each had atleast 50 fixes. If this trend stays up 50 new fixes or more every 2 months... imagine by June... Once something is fixed they can move on to the next thing until eventually there is nothing :)
Lets hope! And I think video recording will be in WebOS 2.0
Import of Facebook friends into Contacts need an option to select a certain Facebook list or by default only import friends in the "Palm" list instead of the "all or nothing" approach.
I mean its a great function but it needs some options to be usable.
Awsome! Thank u for this entry! I think that it´s really a great function!
I love the Pre....Its a great phone but come on now folks....CAN WE GET TEXT FORWARDING!!!!!!!!!!!!. This should be a simple fix to add to the NEXT update.....
Dear prethinking,
Did you know that Germany is not another name for Europe?
