German qwertz Palm Pre says 'Salve' to Italy

Youtube Link

The German Palm Pre has made its way to Italy! It is widely known that the German version of the Pre is not SIM locked, thus allowing it to be on other networks. Many have been waiting to find out if they can get the German flavored Pre to actually work on any other network in Europe, since the German version only has carrier settings for O2 in the software. The gentlemen in this Youtube video has the German Pre with the German qwertz keyboard working on 3ITA in Italy. Our Italian is a bit rusty here, but we clearly see a 3G 3ITA connection being used to browse on the Pre's web browser. So is anyone from Italy willing to take the plunge and go for it? If so, and you have it working where you live, please let us know!

You can see the shorter unboxing footage here.

Interesting, says 3G where it would normally have the EV or 1X symbol,no surprise there. Also note the "Tape Hack" on his SIM at 01:33 timecode in this video.
