Unlocked GSM Palm Pre on AT&T? [Update]

YouTube Link

Well these guys have an unlocked GSM Palm Pre that they decided to put an AT&T SIM card into. Yes we know someone received an iPhone 3GS for dunking a Palm Pre in beer but these guys must have paid full price for an unlocked GSM Pre and they are taking their SIM card out of the beloved iPhone! There is no audio in the video but it clearly shows them getting their SIM card out of the iPhone and putting it into a new Palm Pre with a poorly placed bubble filled screen protector on it. The video ends with the Pre just being activated after the initial setup process so we can't see if they are getting data over AT&T's network. There is also no point in the video where we can clearly see the keyboard, so we don't know for sure if this is the German qwertz keyboard or not. We can probably assume it is but you never know. They did get the phone on and all the way through the initial setup with the AT&T SIM without any problems so that is a good sign. This is either a legit video or someone is good with the iPhones video editing tool. Maybe an unlocked GSM Pre is in the future for us Travelers?!

[Update] - Yes you can infact see the z on the keyboard so it is the German Palm Pre. Thanks for those of you in comments who pointed this out! ^^

The 'Z' between the 'T' and 'U' is pretty clear, isn't that how you can tell the difference?

Just to stop rumors: the german Pre is absolutely unlocked. I have it and I'm using it with EPlus, I have no problems whatsoever.

Or the fact that the German language is featured first on the start up screen. On the US release, it at least initially only had English, and that was always at the top of the list.

Can we change the language to English even if it was bought in Germany?

Yes English is an option. A lot of Germans speak English. I suppose it would almost be like the Pre in the U.S. not having a Spanish option.

Yes, PacFan, you can - my Pre runs on English. I hate using any kind of gadgets or software in German, it just sounds weird :)
