Keen Studios connecting us to our friends with multiplayer WebOS games.

We spoke to Jordan Gensler, founder of Keen Studios, who seems to be pretty excited to develop for Web OS. They started with Checkers and had so much fun with it are going to be developing a number of games. Checkers Pro, Wellow, and Wellow Bounce Room. Wellow and Wellow Bounce Room is their latest project but they haven't released any details about it just yet, but said they will have new information about the game coming in about a week. You can find out details about it if you check out Keen Studios and click the 'applications' link.
Keen Studios has already submitted Checkers Pro into the App Catalog and are waiting with us to see when it comes out so we can all purchase it. Checkers Pro is similar to the free version of checkers already in the App Catalog, but with a few additional features. There are additional settings and game play modes that offer a variety of different ways to play or practice Checkers. It will be available in the App Catalog as soon as Palm puts paid apps in the catalog. Checkers Pro will run you the low price of $0.99 so make sure you get it as soon as it is available!
Keen Studios is working on something very exciting on all their game platforms including Wellow and Checkers which is the ability to play multiplayer with friends or anybody else gaming on the cloud. Multiplayer on Checkers Pro will allow you to have full chat capabilities while in a match with an opponent and will have 2 game modes; 'Automatch' and 'Challenge'. Automatch will of course get you into a random game with another player and Challenge will display a list of users which you can choose from. They say they will implement multiplayer in all their current WebOS games and the WebOS games they release in the future.
We also spoke to Keen Studios about their experience with WebOS, which they seem pretty enthusiastic about. They say it's amazing and very easy to work with and Jordan Gensler describes it as a "breeze" to work with. Though Mojo SDK still has its limits as far as options to implement into WebOS apps, the ease of use helps get new developers started in WebOS app development. When Jordan Gensler heard WebOS apps were going to be coded in HTML, CSS, and Javascript he immediately jumped on the platform because they were languages he already understood. We couldn't be more excited to hear the developer experience is an easy and exciting one and the fact that WebOS is easy to write for means we will see a wave of apps coming to the App Catalog as soon as Palm puts them there!
We as Pre users thrive on the development in the platform when it comes to Palm updates and developers putting their apps in the catalog. So when Checkers Pro comes to the catalog make sure you get it and help support the developers who make the platform as exciting as it is. Again it will be available in the App Catalog as soon as Palm puts out that first wave of Paid apps. So check the catalog all week because we have a feeling something is coming very soon.

Thanks to Keen Studios and Jordan Gensler for taking the time to speak to us. Check out Keen Studios to find out more about future apps.
