Angelina Jolie Checks Out The Pre
We finally get another celebrity opinion different from Howard Stern. During the filming of the upcoming movie Salt, Angelina Jolie was spotted using the Pre. An assistant asked Angelina what she thought of the Pre., (stated in LA Gossip Examiner).
"I asked her how she likes the phone," a production assistant on the set of Salt told me. "She went on about it for about two minutes. She basically said she likes the software better than the iPhone, she likes the thumboard for texting (although the keys aren't big enough), and thinks the screen is beautiful but can be too easily scratched."
The screen being scratched is an easy fix. There are clear screen protectors, hard case covers, silicone covers. So its just a matter of what kind of protector you prefer. As far as the applications she liked the Palm Pre applications verses iPhone applications. And as I have previously said the developers are still in the process of creating more applications, we will have to wait and see just what they come up with.

I'm really worried about the scratching. I hope Ghost Armor or at the very least Invisible Shield has something available on launch day. I won't touch the phone until it has one of those applied to it.
With the iPhone I just dealt with whatever protection they had available at the store so I ended up with a silicone case until my ghost armor arrived. When I got the iphone replaced on Saturday I took it still boxed straight to the nearest ghost armor mall kiosk (40 miles away) to get it protected. Not having a glass screen, a silicone case won't be enough to keep the Pre safe.
I was thinking about this the other day too, how would a silicone case like the ones popular for the iphone even work on a slider?
if you check ghost armor's website they are already taking preorders for the pre.

Sorry, but for Palm to inspire confidence in the product they've gotta have a screen that's as "scratch resistant" as it's main competitors. Granted that his is anecdotal evidence from a very small number of sources, but saying that there are screen protectors is not good enough IMHO. There's no smoke without fire, and if Palm can't just come out and quash these rumours then it's at best off-putting or at worst a deal breaker.
