OUCH! Palm Pre Now on Best Buy for $849

Looks like Best Buy has decided to include the Palm Pre on their website in full retail view for the meager price of only $849.99. This is probably Best Buy attempt to let employees and other buy it without contract people that Best Buy intends to sell the phone with Sprint's full two year contract. It's not to be expected that Best Buy would raise the price a little, but $849.99? Come on.

So that's what, 400%+ over the cost to make the phone? What does the manufacturer charge the retailers? By my estimate BestBuy is looking to at least pocket a double selling at this price, probably more like triple what they paid.....

As a former Best Buy employee I can tell you that Best Buy are vultures! They are making money hand over fist. So it's not surprising they would up the price to make a profit and get their cut.
OMG! That is ridiculous....Best Buy can BITE ME. No fricken phone on the planet is worth that money...especially to a single mom of 4. Give me a fracken break!

don't let a phone rule your emotions....it's a fricken phone. Hell, I was like 34 when I got my very first cell phone! I am now 38 with 4 beautiful kids.. and...my oldest (12) sure as hell does NOT have a cell phone! Maybe when he is responsible and mature enough and in High School. And, in saying that...it sure as HELL aint gonna be as cool as mine unless he bought it with his money from his after school job..;-) I'm just saying....
If your phone is the only thing you look forward too like the Palm Pre....i suggest you learn how to survive without a computer, tv, internet, phone and reconnect to "pre-netscape" days....I might JUST do that with my kids this summer....since I am a school teacher and my son is like an addict withdrawling from cocaine when he is grounded from xbox 360 live. It truly sickens me....thus time limits per day will start taking place June 1st. He, as I, are a victim of society....and I will eventually break him gently like a wild horse if I have too. But...back to the Palm.
Don't get me wrong....I would LOOOOVE to have a Palm Pre! The instinct sucks like a HOOVER! I'm just saying. But, long story short, and at the end of the day, it gets the job done. Maybe with way less "expensive added apps", but hey, that's a good thing. ;-) Even though, Sprint originally said the Instinct would have an app store...but....heyyy....I forgive you SPRINT..no grudges...for now..;-)
