ISP is back with some Pre goodies! Battery Life, Service Plans, Accessories.

We haven't heard from the crew at InsideSprintNow for a quite a while now, but they're back, and with some Pre goodness to share. They didn't say much this time around about the Pre, instead, they've released 3 different screenshots of Internal Sprint documents.
Greatest tidbit from the post? Palm Pre's Talk time is up to 5 hours! That should give you some idea as to Pre's battery life. No idea how it will go with data use though.
They're kidding right?

5 hours talk time plus being able to swap it with fresh battery in seconds... FTW
Oh, I really hope they're not pulling a Motorola and "coding" the power supply to the phone. Micro-USB is a *standard*.
Hopefully this is sprint crap that is just trying to get people to buy chargers.
The Vehicle Charger (VPC) and Travel Charger (wall charger) shown above are the *standard* Micro-USB chargers and are NOT Palm specific. Those are Sprint's universal chargers hence why they are branded with the Sprint Logo. Palm does sell its own variation of accessories available at palm.com
Are they going to have a second battery and charging box solution ( like the instinct )?
In response to "microUSB is a standard" comment. MicroUSB may be a standard from a hardware connector and pin mapping perspective, but actual sizing of plastics around the connector and Amperage draw capabilities are not. In full recharge mode on a Sprint Treo Pro, for example, while running Sprint Navigation in a car (maximum draw on device using GPS and CPU and screen), the car charger must be able to supply at least 800mAmp if not one Amp. If you connect the average cheapo BT headset charger that can only draw a maximum 0.5 Amps, the phone will actually both discharge and overheat at the same time. As for using "any" charger because they are so standard, make a mental note that other accessories depend on the charger cable being a specific size and profile - so if you take a fatso (just an example) Jabra BT8040 microUSB charger and try to squeeze it into the Palm Touchstone device... you better be either very strong or have a rasp handy.
