Can I Get Some iTunes Love? Yes, Palm Pre Does!

Executive Chairman Jon Rubinstein probably made this transition for the Palm Pre bit easier. Reason being, Mr. Rubinstein is an ex-Apple executive and was the former head of Apple’s iPod division which probably gave him some pretty personal familiarity of iTunes. Problem may turn out that Apple may go after anyone who tries to circumvent iTunes and they have done so in the past. We just have to remember that there are always ways around software if one is so inclined = WinAmp.
But for the rest of you that use iTunes, this will be a welcome addition to the Palm Pre.
Question is: how is Amazon going to feel about the whole arraignment?

Question. I know the Pre has Pandora for radio and Amazon for downloads. But does anyone know what music player it will use? I have a Itouch so I wont store much music on the Pre. Just want to use it to rub it in iphone user faces. lol Not an Iphone hater but realistically if you couldn't use it as an Ipod would it be so great?

From what I've gathered it looks like you can't put music that you've purchased via iTunes (which have been referred to as DRM files/songs) onto the Pre. Just mp3's from CDs (and other places people get them from) that are in the "music library" of iTunes.
If this holds true, then all the purchasing of individual songs can still be done via the Amazon store. Add to this the fact that the Amazon purchases can be done straight from the phone with no "syncing" necessary with a PC/MAC application.
