Lines Already Forming At Sprint Stores for Palm Pre

One of TinyComb's readers shot over some photos showing what is now being confirmed as the first person in line for the Palm Pre. The anonymous squatter, said “I’ve been so disappointed with Sprint since my parents got me a plan three years ago. I hear there is only going to be 4 phones at each spot, and I’m GETTING MINE!."
This won't be the last photo we see of anxious Palm Pre fans waiting in line for the new device. This actually beats the iPhone record in 2007 when the line started 100 hours early. The question is, how many more people are going to get in line early due to the shortages that are being claimed for the Palm Pre or is it all a cleaver marketing ploy by Sprint/Palm?
Either way, you had better get in line if you want to get yours.

Looks like I better bust out the camping gear and head over to the store close to my house. I want this phone!
This guy is not only in an alley, at the lowest form of Sprint Store there is, but I am not sure if there will be even one Pre there. I think only the Corporate Sprint Stores, Best Buy Stores, and Radio Shack stores will be selling them. This guy may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer, and seeing where he's gonna be sleeping, I hope he has a sharp one on him.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't a line the shortest distance between any "two" points. One pathetic idiot does not a line make.
Hate to spoil the fun but I was at this store today, an authorized repair center near LAX, and the dude was gone! Guys inside fixing my maintenance prone Touch Pro say they get their first Pre's on the 6th.
Just the same, I think I'll be driving by my Sprint store on Friday night. Not to see if I should get in line, but to see if I should bother showing up at store opening on Saturday. If there's a line on Friday night, I'll be waiting till the second shipment of Pres comes in.
i was talking to the rep at the sprint store last week and she was telling me about all the training she has had to do for the pre. when i mentioned that there is speculation of controlling supply to increase demand and asked her opinion, she said that she thinks they might even sell out of them before her store gets any. crazy.
"...and I'm getting paid $2000 by Palm to sit outside for five days."
Amazing how so many people's self-worth is defined by the phone they carry (be it Pre or iPhone). I'd like to get one but I'm walking into a Sprint store at 9:00a, maybe later. If they've got one for me, great. If not, I'll wait until they get some in stock later. It's just a phone.
