This will be useful the next time my touchscreen freaks and won't properly respond to input. Thanks for posting!
Thanks Great tip.
Awesome. A nice reboot was just what my Pre needed to cure some funkiness I was dealing with. Thanks for the great info.
Thanks a TON! My GPS was not working. This solved it. I was about to head back to the store and fight for a replacement. Not only did you save me time and headache but you also prevented me from looking like a total DORK by not know how to reboot.
Thanks again!
@Matt
Glad we could be of help to you!
Thank you, thank you. By the way what are other two ways? (besides using the info on launch) orange, Sym, E and orange, sym, F?
Your answer fixed my phone while I was waiting for Bell to call me back. Thank you.
Unfortunately, this isn't working for me. I'll keep trying and looking for more ways.
Thanks for the tip. Worked like a charm!
Thanks. My Pre's screen was blank after ending a call and I couldn't power off.
Just had this question and saved me a ton of time to find the answer! Thanks!
Amazing! It really works!
I spent 25 minutes with sprint support and they had no answers...It works thank you so much.
not working for me. i'm frozen on the log in screen.
YEP, THIS WORKED! THANK YOU SO MUCH!
How did no one else know this?! This is amazing. Thank you so much. My power button stopped working, I can't get in to switch out my phone just yet and couldn't open ANYTHING because the too many cards message kept popping up. Thank you again!
I'm a new user of palm pre.
I have problems with the wi-fi issue...in office doesn't connect while does it at home... someone had the same problem?
the other problem is bluetooth. it looks like doesn't like to connect with many devices ( I have OMNIA and Palm 680).
thanks for helping

Wonderful! this just worked.
I was getting a bit frustrated!
Thank you.
Tried it on a friends palm pre - worked like magic. Thanks
Thank you for this. My power button isn't working for some reason and I usually have to reboot my phone once evry couple of days. i like my phone but am starting to get annoyed with some things.
i was told that there was an app that you can download that is the same as the quick pull for the black berries....any ideas as to where i could find that?
does this delete all your contacts and your photos
my phone isn't responding to any of my attempts in trying to reboot/restart it. the ball is blinking to advise me i have unread messages, however, when i slide open the screen, the screen stays black and the ball keeps blinking. i've also tried leaving it alone for a while, but that didn't work either.
someone, anyone, advice on what to do?
I was having trouble effecting this method and, like an above poster, my power key is shot. The "Too many cards error" kept popping up as I attempted to restart, and I think the difficulties in restarting through this method stemmed from the too many cards error being open in the notifications area.
After sliding the error away I just had time to restart it.
Just a reminder: the Pre Plus (at least the AT&T version, can't speak for the Verizon variant) doesn't have an "orange" key per se. Old-timers in Palm OS called it the "option" key, which was the de facto name for the identical key on the Treo & Centro lines.
