Verizon CEO Again Confirms Palm Pre and Cousin of Pre To Verizon Soon
Lowell McAdam, CEO for Verizon Wireless, spoke at a Barclays Capital conference where he discussed upcoming devices and again confirmed the Palm Pre would be coming to Verizon Wireless.
"You will see devices like the Palm Pre and the Cousin on our network from Palm. You will see a second-generation Storm. You will see a new device we call the Tour from BlackBerry as well. That is an upscale of any other QWERTY-based devices that we have from BlackBerry today. You’ll see Motorola back into our portfolio. We feel very good about the progress that the Motorola team has made. And, yes, you’re going to see Android devices as well.
It looks as though the Palm Pre and its cousin, perhaps the Eos (code name Pixie) will be getting the new Palm handsets sometime in the near future, albiet, that future looks like the first quarter of 2010."

I love u
He didn't say verizon would be getting the pre.... He said "devices LIKE the pre".
@Pathymo well now he said they r getting the pre and its cousin so ya
Why would I want to pay more on Verizon to get a crippled Pre? That just makes no sense.
@lorcha its not crippled
@shason actually he still says "like" the palm pre..... And its not there yet and would not be uncommon for "V" to cripple it...
They better not get rid of WiFi. Verizon has a tendency to do that to cell phones. Just ask Blackberry.
@L00t that was rim's fault not Verizons
@Lorcha: I want to pay more to get a Pre on Verizon because Sprint EVDO doesn't exist where I live, and the 1xRTT signal is rather poor as well. So in some cases it does make sense.
This is the same information from May, there is nothing new here. Why are these blogs rerunning this old news. Just about everyone knew Verizons CEO was blowing smoke, nothing has changed. As some have touched on, Verizon tried to undermine Sprints launch of the Pre, at the same time keep Verizon customers from switching. Verizon is not getting the Pre!!!
