Sprint Stores selling the Touchstone Bundle package early, for just $50?

A member over at everythingpre forums scored a TouchStone charger with the special back cover included 4 days ahead the official launch of the Palm Pre. He got it for only $50, which is the rumored price for just the charger without the back cover. Which ever the case is, go to your nearest Sprint Store and report back in the comment section of your findings!

That is a negative for the Kalamazoo, MI Sprint Stores
Hope he is able to get the phone to go with this charger.
I was just at Sprint, they didn't have anything, and wouldn't even let me see the pre they had :-(
I was in the Mentor OH Store
Pre Touchstone charger not available yet in Redmond, WA.
Available on launch day.
the retard that sold this is SO out of a job. dumbass! all sales of the pre and pre accessories are closely monitored. we were warned at our 3 hour training saturday morning, we were warned in our weekly playbook, we've been warned left and right. so for this fool to sell a pre accessory prior to launch and to be stupid enough to attach his own name to the sale...STOOOOOOPID!! selling this stupid phone and/or accessories isn't worth losing a job over.
oh and for all the people claiming to be on waiting lists for the phone...you are all LIARS! company policy forced down our throats at ALL stores, including 3rd party locations is...everyone follows the rules deemed by corporate. the main rule...NO RESERVATIONS. it's first come, first served, NO EXCEPTIONS. so spare everyone the stories and lies to make yourselves look "cooler". you are liars and everyone knows it.
I purchased a Touchstone today in Minnetonka, MN. Bundle was $70.
Called Sprint store in Rockford, IL. Sales person stated the Pre goes on sale this Saturday along with accessories. Could not say how many Pres they had or quantity of accessories. Said see ya Saturday.
I am on a waiting list at a third party store. I'm not going to say where because I don't want them to get in trouble. I don't know if it will do me any good but I was promised that one will be held for me. The guy even told me he would call me on the 5th as soon as they came in and I could come purchase it that night.
STOOOOOOPID is right. Just like the STOOOOOOPID videos, the purchaser/boaster forgot to white out his salespersons name. Poor Christopher W. from a Sprint store in Mecklenburg County NC.
Investigation found Mecklenburg County NC Zip code is 28202
http://www.charmeck.org/Departments/County+Managers+Office/Home.htm
Sprint store locator found 6 Sprint store locations within 10 miles of Zip code 28202
(2 Sprint store by Wireless Comm and 4 Sprint Corporate stores)
One other point....
The retail price is $69.99. The reciept shows a price override.
The normal Sprint discount for accessories is 25% with purchase of new phone???
With a 25% discount of $69.99 price should be $52.49 not $49.99
I hope the sale could be justified as a "mistake"
;)
negative in flint mi as well called every store lol
I went to our local Sprint store in San Marcos, CA... and the guy I talked to said that they didn't even have the phones or touchstones in stock yet. He tried to convince me that they wouldn't get them until Saturday morning. Yeah. Right. Like Sprint would risk the chaos that would ensue if the truck broke down before it could make it's delivery on the day of release! I told him that I understood that it was easier to lie to me, but that he really shouldn't insult my intelligence.
I asked him how many they were expecting, asked him if they were planning on doing anything for the Sprint Premiere customers (like selling them Friday night for instance), and got the tried and true "Sprint corporate hasn't told us anything... we don't know anything". Per all the postings about the training that the Sprint employees have received... these guys are just flat out lying.
I know that the Pre has been marinating in "secret" sauce for 6 months now... but come on! Is it really going to hurt Sprint to give just a TINY bit of info 3 days before the launch to those who want the Pre on release day? After leaving the store, I called Sprint's 800 number to ask about any info for Sprint Premiere members. More BS: "You will almost certainly be receiving an email before release day." I then asked him, what the email would say... and he fell back to the "Corporate hasn't told us anything" song and dance.
This is why the ONLY time I will deal with Sprint... is when I upgrade my phone... (sigh)
I have called 3 Sprint stores in Atlanta with three different answers about how the Pre will be sold.
1) Corporate wait list (for those who asked for the email)
2) Local wait list (put my name on in hopes)
3) First come first serve...
What gives 3 stores, 3 answers...
Can't wait ditch my Centro (2nd replacement and still doesn't work properly) but can't be there to wait in line on the 6th - so I stopped by my local store to chat. Same Company talking points... was told they cannot/will not wait list ANYONE (Premier or not) for the Pre's that go on sale Sat. If that's true, what good does it do to be a Premier customer with 9-1/2 yrs of loyalty? Best they could do for me was place an order for my Pre on Sat. AM for pick up the following Tues. (6/8) Hope Sprint is monitoring this blog!
Signed,
So disappointed in Sprint!
patmc....dude understand that giving you the information you ask for in store will get the RC FIRED! we had to sign a NDA and have been told over and over that we are not allowed to give out specific information in store beyond the fact it is coming out saturday and the price is 199 after mir.
so for your selfish needs you expect someone to get fired? that's pretty effed up dude. you are not so entitled that someone else should lose their job for you. get over yourself.
and to the guy whining that he can't get a pre first because of his "years of loyalty".....ugh! i'm so flippin sick of hearing how long someone has been a customer. DON'T CARE, NO ONE CARES! do you use this line with your utility provider? do you use this line with your grocery store? your doctor? any of the other places you are a customer? do you try to use that one with your landlord? what would their reaction be if you did? they'd look at you like you have 3 heads, laugh, and walk away. NO ONE CARES! it doesn't make you special or any better than any other customer! the best you can expect from me with the "i've been a customer for xx years" line? "thank you". does that make you happy? *rolls eyes*
the reason you aren't getting the phone first is because it isn't fair to everyone else! it isn't fair for people to stand in line for hours or days because they have the same desire as you do to have this phone...but they are punished because they have only been a customer for 2 years instead of your 9 (claimed years, which like dick size claim online must also be divided by 2 or 3)? no that isn't fair or right. it's the same reason we have a Queue in store and make people sign in so we can wait on people in the order they come in because that is the fair and the RIGHT way to do it.
Regarding the last post from "Anonymous"...
If the guy signed a NDA... then just freakin say "I signed an NDA, and we're not allowed to say anything else." That I would understand, but making up contradictory bullshit on the spot is stupid and insulting. Expecting honesty means I "need to get over myself"? You need to stop being a moron.
Also, the reason the that the Premiere customers are ticked off... is because Sprint created the program in the first place, and promised their customers first crack at the latest phones, using pictures of the Pre in their ads for the Premiere customers. Why bother promising something, if you are just going to welch on it a few months later?
And if you signed an NDA as well, that would make you a Sprint employee, right? It's so good to see that Sprint is hiring such polite people, who appreciate the customers that pay their wages. <sarcasm>
quite frankly patmc...i deal with self-entitled jackass*s like you each and every day. thankfully the good customers far outweigh ones like you so it makes the job enjoyable. and yes on a blog i can actually let out my irritation with people like you that i simply can't do in person. trust me...i would love to tell the self-entitled asses like you off as would the rest of us but ya take the good with the bad.
if you are so enraged because i don't care how long you or anyone else has been a customer then so what. i, like your landlord, don't give a rip. it's not going to get you something special and/or free...you aren't getting a month's rent for free. seriously...why is it the cell business is the only place people feel their "loyalty" should be rewarded with something free? you wouldn't dream of expecting it from your landlord, grocery store, bank, mortgage holder...so WHY is it supposed to be so important to us? THANK YOU! thank you for being a customer. i appreciate it as does everyone else at sprint. but that and a dollar still won't get you laid. what is it exactly you feel you are owed? why is it you feel your "years of being a customer" afford you something special?
see there always has to be 1 like you in the crowd and i'm sure i'll deal with several like you today. however in the end it isn't about what you want...it's about what my job allows me to do. oh and this one you'll hate but i simply LOVE it....all of the whiney "cancel my account" people that use that line to scam us...well the joke is on y'all now! it no longer gets you anywhere with retention. yeah some will get their way...the ones who are justified...but not ones like you who think they are owed everything and are simply scamming us.
have a nice day. =)
Anonymous: Wow. With such excellent customer service reps, it's hard to see why Sprint has lost just shy of 6 million customers since the beginning of 2008, huh? I'm guessing more than a few of those customers had to deal with you before they decided to leave Sprint.
Your analogy is actually quite poor. Would I expect something from my landlord? If there were two places to move into, and both were priced comparably, but one offered a free months rent to move in... guess which one I'm going to choose? Grocery stores? I've got a Ralphs Rewards card, and a Vons Club card that save me money every time I shop... and if you look in the paper, you can find store coupons to save even more money. Banks? Call up your bank and let them know you found another bank with a better rate on their Visa card. Think they'll match it?
Why would all these companies "give" things to their customers loyalty when they don't have to? Because they want their customers to stay there and keep spending money with them, that's why. It's called Free Market Economics. If you are unfamiliar with the concept, I recommend you educate yourself. The cellular industry is highly competitive, with companies trying to take customers from each other. It is in the company's best interest to give their customers things so that they won't go give their money to some different company. Why do people leave? These reasons can be new, cutting edge phones (like the iPhone was, and the Pre is), or it can be people wanting to get away from horrible customer service. It's complete apathy for the customer (like yours) that sent 6 million customers running away from Sprint. I know that you could care less about this "big picture" stuff, but I'm pretty sure that the people who pay your paycheck care. Want to give me your store number and your name, so I can let Sprint corporate know what a great job their doing with their hiring choices?
I stay with Sprint, because I have an awesome discount locked in with them, and I get very good coverage. The only downside with Sprint as far as I'm concerned is dealing with idiots like you, but thankfully I only have to experience that once every year or two to get a new phone.
YOU have a nice day too..
