Use Protection: Cheap Gesture Area covering cases (Use protection, just not with these)

I bought one of those cheap cases on eBay before the official launch, just so that I can get a feel of how small tiny the puppy is. Since I have it in-hand, why not do a quick pros/cons on it right?
Pros: You're forced to use the 'center button', the very first time.
Cons: If it feels cheap, it's cheap: Cheap plastic, design flaw -- covers the gesture area, keyboard unusable (literally... You can't slide out the keyboard).
Don't buy.

CUT IT OUT OF THE WAY
google how to cut carbon fiber.
looks thin enough you might be able to melt it with a heated knife. (never tried this on anything other than plastic.)
good luck!
that isnt carbon fiber
Funny! I almost bought one of those, yesterdan and then just decided on a skin.
I put a plastic case like this (a clear Crystal Case) on my Treo 650 years ago to protect it. Instead, all it did was trap dust and tiny dirt particles against the phone. Then, since it could move ever so slightly, those bits of dirt pitted and scratched the heck out of the phone. What incredible protection! The back of my phone and the silver bezel around the screen now look like the surface of the Moon.
Invisishield from Zagg?
wow, what a terrible case!
Ugh I hate carbon fiber.. owning a lot of real carbon fiber, it makes me sick to see it. Could you even use the phone at all without the gesture area? How do you do the "back" gesture?
Plus the inability to open the keyboard, wow. How did they mold these without at least a shell of a palm pre in hand? I could understand missing the gesture area since it wouldn't be obvious on a mockup/shell but the keyboard? ha
@kansei
To do the back gesture, you pry off the case, do the gesture -- and snap it back on.
the released a more updated version of the pre case on ebay the other day, doesn't cover the gesture area.
Could have been worse, they could have just sent you some shrink wrap and a heat gun. Actually that might have been better.
I can't believe anyone would buy this
Now THAT is hilarious. That is a case FAIL if there ever was one.
I bought 3 different rubberized ones. I like the color but makes the phone useless to what it is design to do. If you have to get one, there are brands out there that will not cover the gesture area which is more efficient.
Hey Guys chk this video this supports gesture feature....
