The Shunning of Palm Pre News Websites; Isn't There Any Love Palm? Guess Not!
Unless you're a Mega Star like aplusk (a.k.a. Aston Kutcher for those of you that live on another planet), chances are you aren't going to be getting a your hands on a Palm Pre anytime early. But it seems as though foxycar, Lynn Fox, the Vice President of Public Relations at Palm, believes that Super Stars like Angelina Jolie and Aston Kutcher, are better spokes-people for the Palm Pre handset than credible, and educated supporters like PreThinking, everythingpre, precentral and others, who on a daily basis, pump more information into the InterWebs for the consumption of the masses.
Granted, aplusk has over 2,000,000 followers on Twitter and probably more fans worldwide, but shouldn't honest, hardworking, bloggers, be given the chance to review a handset (especially the ones promoting the Palm Pre) before the super stars of this world? Yes, we should. Reason being is that us bloggers are the ones that will probably give the new Palm Pre a serious concise review, more than several other sites (many who have already bashed the Pre) and will take the time to go over the device meticulously.
Ms. Fox, consider who will really be purchasing the Palm Pre. Not Super Stars, but your every day techno folk that understand this phone is a step up from the iPhone, better UI than Blackberry's and we work for a living to be able to buy one of these phones or switch to Sprint's everything plan. Keep that in mind next time before you publicly offer a phone to a Super Star who can wait just like the rest of us Pre Fans and easily buy it themselves.
Thank heavens there are several smart people at Sprint who view us as just the opposite and actually welcome comments, criticism and are eager to work with Bloggers in promoting of the advantages of the Palm Pre.

I disagree. It doesn't matter how prethinking.com rates the pre, good or bad. If aplusk tweets something like "dude, this palm pre is sweet" then Palm will probably sell more pres vs if you gave it the thumbs up.
You want me to pull my violin out and play a tune while you whine where you count on the food chain?
Pathetic to be begging, you sound like a six year old.

Actually, Sprint is sending us a handset, so we're not begging Palm. We just aren't happy when bloggers aren't getting a hands on before the Stars do, since bloggers write most of the news and keep the public up to date with announcements of the Palm Pre.
Amen. It seems like everyone but the legitimate review sites and people who actually matter have these things already, and it has me quite bummed.
I've been kind of pissed with Sprint/Palm for doing crap like this, including the cleb-infested launch parties. What kind of company caters to the people who make the phone cool by association? Frankly, I don't think the kind of people who care whether AplusK has one or not are the technophiles that will line up on launch day.
Keep fighting the good fight, prethinking!
The reason sites like this don't get the devices they're promoting is because the review would be horribly biased. This site was made because somebody was excited to get the Pre, meaning you would have an extremely difficult time even allowing yourself to acknowledge anything negative about it.
Not to mention, typically celebrities aren't too tech savvy, meaning their opinion will mean more to the general public.
Quit whining.
I totally agree with PreThinking, our money and word of mouth is just as good as these damn celebrities. They always have to have things first and for free. FOR WHAT??? If anybody would careless about a palm PRE it's them. But hey no love for regular consumers yet we're going to be the ones supporting them. Celebs are in love with their blackberry's and Iphones thank u very much. The truth is never beggin nor whining
I agree that Palm is silly for sending it to celebs first. However, they are wise to hit two distinctly different markets; the celeb worshipper crowd for publicity and the informed buyer crowd. Despite all of the loyal readers (like myself), you'll be getting a ton of people who are jumping on the bandwagon and searching Palm Pre for reviews after it releases, so your review will live on. I doubt that the celeb worshippers will remember if they don't run right out & get one. Of course I could be wrong about that.
