How Palm Pre Used Hacker Exploits to Gain Access to iTunes

According to the guys over at engadget, the work-around for iTunes sync is a bit of a hack. Apparently, the Palm Pre classifies itself as an iPod when in Media Mode and only in the system's mass storage interface. But the root USB stil shows up as the Palm Pre. Curious to see if Apple decides to lock the haX0r attempt and block the Pre. Only time will tell.

Pretty nifty trick. Too bad it won't last.
"Hacker exploits"? Wtf?
Simulating another vendor's VID and PID is NOT a hacker exploit. Get over your sensationalised and irrational headlines, guys.
This just in: Palm hacks cupertino servers, patches iTunes to allow Media Sync... e_e
@Ryan and I quote engadget "We're still up in the air on whether Cupertino would actively move to do that, but regardless, you've got to give a tip of the ol' hacker hat to Palm for its wild ways on this one."
Go leave them the same comment.
