Contract Free Palm Pre's already listed on ebay, for $899.

Get my Palm Pre on the 6th for $549(Off-Contract) or get it delivered right to my door step next Monday(the 8th), but for $899. This is a tough one...

You heard it right, ebay seller celltasticprices818 is selling some Pre's extra early on ebay. The seller has a total of 5 Brand New Unopened, Contract free Palm Pre's in hand, right now. How the seller got these, I couldn't care less. But what bugs me is that it's being listed for $899, even higher than what Best Buy is ridiculously offering them for (Off-Contract $849). Overnight shipping is free here, but you won't get your spanking new Pre til Monday, unless the shipping service of their choosing does Weekends.

Would I recommend you buying your Pre from this listing? No. You'd be better off getting one at a Sprint Store or Best Buy.

Would anyone here purchases this?

Note: Sales Tax -- About $88 more for shipping to CA

Few more photos after the jump.

What this guy is doing is assuming that there will be a selllout of phones like the iPhone at which point if the option is to wait several weeks to get one or pay $899 now, he's thinking he'll make a tidy profit.

Since a two year contract is mandatory, i'd be concerned that these are unusable after purchase

eBay pulled the auction. Sprint must have flexed some muscle.

What is the point of buying the phone without a contract if it costs more to do that than it does to get the phone for $200 and then later cancel the contract for at most $200? The no-contract price is $150 more.
