Actually I think she is supposed to look like a Renaissance painting. The Pastoral setting and her look, reminds me of mayny portraits I've seen in the past. It may be a subtle hint a cellular Renaissance or change. Honestly I think she's cute, lol.

Completely and totally horrifyingly creepy. Did they photoshop out her eye lashes? There's so many eerie, wrong things about her, her voice, the music, the commercial in general. Palm is in big trouble, and this ad won't fix it.

I actually googled "palm pre girl" to see what other people were saying about this commercial. I saw it non-stop on BBC America during the Torchwood mini-series.

What struck me immediately was a resemblance to Clapton's "Blind Faith" album cover. That girl is probably close to 60 years old now, and the album cover itself was pretty controversial.

This commercial keeps popping up as I'm watching Torchwood. Non-stop. And yes, it's really starting to creep me out. I have to admit, I haven't even listened to what she's saying. All I can think of is Blind Faith and that kiddy porn album cover.

This is typical of the way advertisers try to target an audience that's already over-saturated w/ media. Most ads now almost try NOT to advertise the product, because they figure that people have become too wise to traditional advertising tricks. So this ad intentionally gives very few details about the phone because they are using the trick of association... whatever it is people associate w/ this girl- artistic, esoteric, dancer, modern futuristic hipster chick- they figure that people will want the phone because it will signal to others that you are the same type of cool, ethereal, futuristic bohemian that this chick is trying to convey. I think that's why people are pissed off...the advertisers are assuming the target audience is the type that think they're cool and hip but are ultimately shallow without knowing it!

Palm should at least learn MARKETING from the iPhone people. Apple keeps saying THERE'S AN APP FOR THAT... at least the consumer gets the message that iPhone has many different uses. The Palm commercials need to show the functionality of the Pre IN ACTION. Palm should show commercials about daily power-users in action so that it can differentiate it's multi-tasking from all the other phone manufacturers. The girl commercial is awful at best.
