An early peek at Flickr Nearby App for the Palm Pre
Update: It wasn't something he actually planned to release (But could). Move along.
Update #2: Matthew made a new post giving a little background and how the app was build.
A little more than a week ago, Palm decided it was time to allow developers that has been kept silent to freely discuss/show their upcoming apps and webOS development. Well today, Matthew Rothenberg, who currently does product strategy slash management at Flickr, did just that. He released some mouth-watering photos of 'Flickr Nearby' app on the Palm Pre.
"Not bad for maybe 30-40 lines of Javascript! (and most of that setting up UI stuff)
Revised Mojo SDK end user agreement means I can share these photos now, phew."
Apps for our Pres are on its way! Woot!
Rest of the photos after the break.

A little disappointing that this is the only thing so far that has been mentioned given the relaxed SDK agreement announcement. But I suppose it's better than nothing =)
But, it's Wednesday evening and nothing so far.... c'mon palm... you can do it....
I love the pre, but I really need a few more apps so can retire my ipod touch permanently! A measurement/currency converter, guitar chord builder, a "good" sudoku app, a gita, a bible, and a Koran are the first ones that come to mind.
I desperate need of more apps. We were promised more, so where are they?
Games. Anything. Games
A Bible and a Koran app? I'm confused.
LOL @ Arman
Duh, the Bible and a Koran apps are both for lite reading obviously.
... but either way a good Ebook reader app would be ideal for the pre's app store.
Well I have them for my ipod touch. The Koran app on the touch is cool because you can hear the verses recited in Arabic which for me adds another dimension to reading the Koran and my niece can get a better understanding of pronunciation, so its a little more than light reading. The Bible app had a nice search feature, but used that one for light reading.
whew! thought we actually had word on an honest to goodness application for the Pre! that was a close one.
man, that flickr app looks really nice, considering the geotagging of cell phones. I would definitely be interested in something like that.
You can always use m.youversion.com as your Bible 'app.' Save it as launcher item. Good site with lots of translations.
When will this Flickr app. be available for download? I love my pre and can't wait to continuously share my photos through flickr...
I think that to receive the loan from creditors you ought to have a good reason. Nevertheless, one time I have received a credit loan, because I wanted to buy a car.
