Palm reports Apple over USB restrictions; Apple's block-out

Palm has issued a complaint against Apple with the USB Implementers Forum which states that Apple is restricting it's trade options for use against other hardware. USB Core, which is a public information site covering USB technology said Palm believes that Apple is restraining trade because it will not allow Palm Pre to access iTunes.
"This is an anti-trust case it would seem as this means Apple is ignoring the standards that were supposed to make interoperability options via USB possible, This is due to the fact that Apple is a member of the USB-IF which has three standards: the wireless USB, USB on the go, and the simple USB. This is a very unexpected move for Palm to make and without a clear precedent or similar case industry experts are not sure what direction the move will take." reports USB Core.

Wait, so you're telling me, that Palm was doing something Legal hacking around to make iTunes work, and now that they're blocked out of it, they start reporting Apple for it? Although I don't use the iTunes (iBloatware), I have to say, this is a ridiculous thing for Palm to do.
This makes me wonder why Apple didn't report them to the USB-IF in the first place. But Palm, really? If so, I might drop my Pre and get an Android (AT&T just isn't my taste) - This is appalling.
Lol valerie. Did you read the article? Apple is breaking the the standards set forth by USB-IF.
Yes I did, but I've also ready the actual USB-IF Standards a few months ago, and Palm has actually broke some themselves by hacking to make the iTunes connection to work. This is going to get ugly!
Hi,
Must be some mighty nice drugs Palm executives use to justify their moves.
Only people the feel Apple is in the wrong are Pre fanboys and those who have a bug up their butt about anything Apple does.
Now, the stuff posted saying Apple broke the law here is just an opinion as this has not gone to a court.
The above article is just a sad attempt at drumming up publicity for a dead or soon to be dead product and company.
The Pre sales are in the dumper, the stock prices are falling, no app catalog that is open for business and a lousy build quality for the Pre, which Palm has staked the company on.
Now the petty fight over interacting with Itunes, I guess if you cannot dazzle with brilliance, baffle them with BS.
Great strategy Palm.
Hey Yowsers, I'm sure that some who defend Palm's move isn't exactly a "Palm Fanboy", but rather one that has their own opinion on the matter. Do respect them and their opinion. And don't blatantly call one with their own opinion - whether right, or wrong. A "Fanboy", whether it's Palm, Apple or whoever is in the case.
Hi,
You are probably right, just doing what the Pre fanboys do when they attack anyone who says something even slightly negative about the Pre or Palm.
They trash the poster and lambast them as an Apple fanboy, whether they are or not, based on the fact they do not think the Pre is all that.
For those who like the Pre, do not trash those who do not.
Just makes you look insecure and petty.
