Review: Palm Pre USB Sync and 2nd Battery Charger Cradle

In for review today is a cradle that USB syncs, charge your Palm Pre and a second battery at the same time. I would say it slides more to the cheaply made side, but hey, it does the job. Review after the break...

What I do like is that it holds the Pre in a very comfortable viewing angle, but only the standard size back covers will fit. The Pre is in there pretty tightly so you don't have to worry about it falling out.

Standard and extended 1400mAh battery sits flush in the 2nd battery charging compartment. Comes in and out easily, very convenient.

Works with the monstrous 3800mAh and 2800mAh extended battery too.

Verdict:
And again, it does the job right, that's what it really matters at the end of the day. Will drop for $25, not too pricey, but I feel it belongs in around $20 range.
You can get it from WirelessGround. OR a similar cradle from our own store for the same price.

define "sync" relating to USB...
not a looker by any means. the people who design these things have no sense of style.
Will it synch via USB to my Palm Desktop. That is the real trick, if possible. I used my Desktop as much as I did my Treo 700p for entering contacts and dates.
TC, USB sync is the mode you put the Pre in so you can transfer files to and from the Pre and your computer manually. You can also put the Pre into Media Sync mode, which will sync your iTunes library to your Pre automatically, at least until Apple disables it again.
Caphear, the Pre does not sync with Palm Desktop per se, but there is a transfer assistant that will put your data from Palm Desktop onto your Pre, after which you can have that information synched to your Google, Exchange, or Palm accounts. I use google calendar all the time now as I can access it from anywhere, either on my Pre or any desktop.
Palm needs to develop a Touchstone charger that can also charge an extra battery maybe on the back or something...
good idea...the Touchstone being able to chrg a back-up battery!
does the The Amzer Desktop Charging Cradle fit the Pre with the any of the batts that are greater than 1150? (especially the 3800)
@Darmentheon
I'd be surprise if it didn't. It fits all.
I recently purchased this Palm cradle and I have been having problems with the wall charger. It never seems to be connected to the sync cable well enough to work. My work around was pushing the cradle to the end of my desk and letting the charge cable “droop” over the edge.
