We Are Blogging Live Today From Palm's HQ In Sunnyvale PreDevCamp Meeting

5:36 p.m.

Giving some free stuff away now and it's almost over.

4:51 p.m.

Devs demoing apps right now. Cool stuff. Photos will be posted later (forgot my mini USB - duh).

4:47 p.m.

Talking with a bunch of engineers about coding for the Pre. Most of the it is written in HTML and Java. Lots of interesting ideas were posted on white boards where devs were looking to get into groups to code some apps. Very good meeting and lots of people sitting together discussing apps, code and ideas.

4:18 p.m. Sitting with Davis Frank of Pivotal Labs right now.

3:59 p.m.

Watching the SelfAware games presentation. Sorry folks. No snapshot of the UI but I can tell you, it looks like an addicting game. I will be doing a full story on it later.

3:08 p.m.

Discussing UI Guidelines. Bunch of questions from all of the devs asking about doing mock ups for the webOS because they say it is a lot easier to do the proper design. Adobe Fireworks is being pimped as the perfect tool for the UI.

3:03 p.m.

Application checklist was an internal release but will be updated for everyone to read. The checklist is stable, but they will be adding illustrations regarding the checklist:

2:52 p.m.

Showing a walk through of the LikeMe app.

2:45 p.m.

We had a lunch break and several groups have broken up in the cafeteria working on Code.

Now talking about user experience.

12:13 p.m.

Devs just coding away to win the Palm Pre.

12:05 p.m.

Jesse Donaldson, Palm's Mojo guru is discussing 'Scenes' and going over the basic developing for the Mojo framework.

They announced a contest for $200 gift cards at Best Buy to get a Palm Pre - so the Devs in the room are coding away to win the best app contest and it can't be a "hello world" app either.

11:45 a.m.

Mitch Allen, Palm's CTO just came on stage to thank everyone for being here and talked about Palm's commitment to developers. The contest was giving away Adobe CS4! Only three copies left.

Luke @ lkilpatrick  is having sponsors of the first PreDevCamp come up and talk a bit about themselves and sponsorship. Also starting to give out donated prizes too!

Ok. So I brought my nice Nikon but forgot my mini USB cord! But I am still taking photos and I will post them later with a full update on today's discussions. So I am using the 700p with a crappy camera for now.

We are blogging live today from Palm's Headquarters in Sunnyvale. Check back later today for a full update from the PreDevCamp meeting.

Great headline. If your cookie has a bite-sized action and your reader completes the action, I think two things happen. Their self-confidence goes up (which feels good) and their trust in you increases.
