Palm Pre Price being dropped to $150?

According to a new internal memo that was leaked on the net, the Pre that we loved for $ 199.99 (ON Contract + Mail-in-rebate in most cases), is getting a Price drop of $50 tomorrow, the 8th. Making it now only $150 with contact and MIR. This price drop would most likely reach out to the 3rd party vendors as well.

We hope that the price reduction will bring more sales to the Pre, and even more when the Sprint Exclusivity ends.

I doubt you'll ever get that money. I've had terrible luck with Sprint rebates. I did not receive the checks for the last three phones I purchased that had rebates. For two of them, Sprint claims to have never gotten the paperwork, and for the third they say I filled out the form wrong. I should have photocopied it first to prove them wrong, as I KNOW I did it correctly. Sprint rebates are a scam.

I got my rebate from Sprint in under 4 weeks....in fact when they sent me an email telling me they were mailing the check, I received it the same day. Sprint gives you a website to check on the status of the rebate and emails you to tell you when they received the rebate form.

Funny. I bought my Pre on launch day, and the sprint store reps were making everyone fill out the rebate form and turn it in to them before we even left the store.

It wouldn't be the first time the employees at that store lied or tried to screw me over...
