Palm Pre Mail-in Rebate offer ends on July 11th($199), Shortage of Pre's, Palm Eos (Pixie) release date?

The actual price of the Palm Pre with a two-year contract is $299, $199 after mail-in rebate. If you head over to Sprint's Pre page and read the updated fine print, it states that the $100 Mail-in rebate offer ends on 7/11(What could be up their sleeve? Poossbly change in pricing/plans?). You'll have to purchase the Pre and activate the line before 7/11 for the rebate to work. 10 to 14 weeks later, you get that Benjamin back, in the form of Sprint credits. And why 7/11? Could it be something to do with the Palm Eos (code named Pixie)? The Fine Print:
"Phone Offer: Offer ends 07/11/09. While supplies last. $299.99 (two-year price) -$100 (mail-in rebate) =$199.99(final price). Taxes and service charges excluded. No cash Back. Requires activation at the time of purchase. Mail-in Rebate: Requires purchase by 07/11/09 & activation by 07/11/09. Line must be active 30 consecutive days. Allow 10 to 14 weeks for rebate. Upgrade: Existing customers in good standing with service on the same device for more than 22 consecutive months currently activated on a service plan of $39.99 or higher may be eligible."
"While supplies last", could the rumor of Sprint releasing low inventory of Pre's be true?
