Palm Pre Gaming with some Doom!

For all of your that were waiting until the Palm Pre had some decent games, it's time to start busting out those wallets and head over to Sprint to drop a dime on the Palm Pre. A guy by the name of Sargun, (re)built the game Doom, calling it PRDoom, and used the DirectFB graphics library. And apparently, the game runs well.

Palm Pre: 3D Gaming demo on Classic App

The embedded video is a demo of 3D gaming on the Classic app by MotionApps. Despite the terrible driving, the game ran pretty smoothy as expected. According to MotionApps:

We have been working on getting sound support in Classic and have made some good progress.

If you ask me, I'd say they're getting there with the sound in Classic. Nonetheless, a great demo showing what the Classic App is capable of. Kudos to MotionApps.
