Palm Pre Price: Now $99 at Amazon.com
You read that right, the recent $50 drop to $150 wasn't enough, as now Amazon.com is selling the Palm Pre for only $99 on-contract. This might be the lowest the Pre will go, so get one now.

An updated picture on Palm's Germany site suggests that the Palm Pre release date in Germany will be somewhere within this Fall, yes -- the GSM Palm Pre. And that's a long, long time.

According to a new internal memo that was leaked on the net, the Pre that we loved for $ 199.99 (ON Contract + Mail-in-rebate in most cases), is getting a Price drop of $50 tomorrow, the 8th. Making it now only $150 with contact and MIR. This price drop would most likely reach out to the 3rd party vendors as well.
We hope that the price reduction will bring more sales to the Pre, and even more when the Sprint Exclusivity ends.

It's official, UK, Ireland, and Germany are bound to get the Pre on O2 where as Spain it will be Movistar, both exclusively. And you want a release date huh? Palm is trying to be creative here, so instead of saying "soon", it's "in time for the holidays". Which essentially means before the end of the year as engadget notes. No price point released either. This feels like the waiting game all over again... but for Europe.
Update: Palm Germany site states an October launch.

Over at Tinhte forums in Vietnam, it looks as though the Palm's Pre has been caught with a few shots of GSM fever sporting a SIM card for all of the GSM network fans. Not thrilled about switching to Sprint? Well hold on their partner, because here are photos to prove that's coming alright. No word on a release date.

[Thanks, Enzo]

Well looky here... Several Palm Pre accessories landed in BestBuy's system today. According to lgmack, it included 3 acrylic cases, a leather case, one case labeled 'palm pre case' and the "TouchStone Kit"(Charger with battery back cover). He mentioned that the Touchstone is listed at $69.99 which matches fits quite well with earlier reports. He also noted that though these accessories are listed as "In Stock Date: 5/10", he didn't find anything in the store yet.
What does this say about the Pre's release date? Not much, but soon. What I can tell you though is that the chances of a mid-May release is looking very dim right now. Your best bet would be on 6/7.
We'll be following this story very closely, so check back for possible updates.

Permalink Yet another leaked Sprint internal info has surfaced. According to the screengrab above, there's no mention of a Palm Pre release for April. There's a chance that things are not set in stone yet and Sprint might possibly change their mind and release it in April. If not, then Palm/Sprint will most likely ramp up marketing for the Pre in April and hopefully release the phone in May. Either way, time will tell.
